Archaeology Festival Features Family Fun Activities at Wickliffe Mounds
September is Kentucky Archaeology Month and in recognition, Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site will have special demonstrations and hands-on activities for learning about how archaeology happens, at a kid’s level from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Featured activities include a mock excavation for kids, artifact laboratory station, spear and atlatl throwing, youth bows and arrows, flint knapping with a make and take your own arrowhead, finger weaving, basket weaving, corn shuck dolls, and make and take home a pottery craft.
