FOREST SERVICE ARCHAEOLOGIST POSITION OPEN ON THE DANIEL BOONE NATIONAL FOREST, KY

The Daniel Boone National Forest is advertising a permanent GS-07 archaeological technician position to be stationed at Stanton, Kentucky. The position serves the Red River Gorge area of the DBNF and will be responsible for archaeological surveys, site monitoring and public outreach. The archaeological resources of the Red River Gorge area are extremely diverse and are a rewarding challenge to work with. Every period of Native American and European history are represented. Help protect, study and manage many significant sites pertaining to both regional and world history. The public outreach component of the job includes assisting with the Living Archaeology Weekend, the state’s longest-running and largest public archaeology event.  The advertisement will be open until October 16th.
